Thanks to Good Hope FM's listeners, partner schools, businesses, and the unwavering support of our partners, Community Chest, this year's campaign brought in over 5 200 non-perishable food items, over 1 500 blankets, close to 2 000 pieces of clothing, more than 1 500 hygienic products, as well as a generous donation of toys and safety equipment like fire extinguishers, says the radio station.
Good Hope FM's 'Keep Cape Town Warm' is proud to be supporting 45 incredible charities across the Mother City and surrounds. These organisations span a wide range of sectors — from mental health and disability support to education, youth development, food security and community upliftment, adds the radio station.
Some of the beneficiaries include Oasis Association, working with individuals with intellectual disabilities; the Cape Town Association for the Physically Disabled; IkamvaYouth, which focuses on education and skills training in underserved communities; and the Hospital Children's Trust, improving healthcare for young patients. Others, like Meals on Wheels, Vanessa's Soup Kitchen, and Atlantic Hope, provide essential nutrition and care to some of the Mother City's most vulnerable residents. From Mitchells Plain to Khayelitsha, Hout Bay to Paarl, these
organisations are on the ground making real, life-saving impact, says the radio station.
"Cape Town showed its warm and true colours — bold and united," says Masi Mdingane, Business Manager of Good Hope FM and 5FM. "This campaign wasn't just about donations. It was about dignity, hope and making sure that vulnerable people are seen, valued and safe — possibly even saving their lives this winter. The numbers are impressive, but the impact goes far beyond them. While the campaign has officially wrapped and distributions are underway, the needs in our communities persist. Let this winter's wave of kindness be the standard until every night is a warm one."
Good Hope FM extends heartfelt thanks to every individual who dropped off a blanket, food item or donation, every school that rallied behind the cause with amazing spirit and every business that turned boardrooms into collection points, concludes Good Hope FM.
